Finding your inner voice
Warning: If you’re just here for the catchy title you might as well leave right now.. OR you can try to embark with me on this mysterious journey whose end is still unknow (I’m only writing this now give me a break).
So the question of finding out your inner voice is such a huge one that it couldn't simply be solved just by this article of few words, but for now, I would like to put the light on the importance of finding out what you love to do.
I’m not necessarily talking about a life time career here, or you biggest dreams and plans. You might not notice it but what might seem like small insignificant things in everydays life might make your day without you suspecting it.
The point is to get all the positive energy you can get by learning to appreciate the little pleasures in life: a walk in a park with a friend, a hot coffee on a cold day, a little song you love or even a moment of silence in a noisy room.
So your to do of the day is to draw a list of the small things that you enjoy, the things that make you smile even slightly, no matter how simple they are. You must wonder why I’d ask you to do it right? well I’m getting there..
Alright, now that your list is ready (or if you’re getting there) let me explain my intentions; there are mainly two things that this little task aims for:
1- You need to give yourself some time to think about yourself ( you get the idea..), to reconnect with your inner voice (AHA!) and remember all those things you might have forgotten or not noticed you enjoyed that much
2- How many of us got so depressed or fed up to the point where we google "Things to do when you’re fed up/depressed " (come on we all did it at least once) and then you’ve got this big whatever list of "brush your hair" or "eat your nails" kind of suggestions.. well now you’ve got your own list, and it has things you actually like doing not bad right?
As you keep up adding new things you get to know much more about yourself : how your tastes changed over time, how you’ve learned to appreciate things that might have always been there or how some things might actually never change. Give it a shot and let me know what you think, this could actually be a small micro step into finding your inner voice (or not).
