In this city, Be it a 90 yr old who’s longing for eternity 👵

or a 60 yr old who’s getting ready to enjoy his post-retirement life 👴

or a 40 yr old who’s planning about his children’s future amidst his work-life 👪

or a 25-year-old who’s about to start his career 👨

They all will have a story (Experience) to tell about MADRAS.

The City not only transformed itself over the years but also transformed the lives of many - irrespective of their age, color, culture, religion, caste, etc.

On this day, 22nd August 2019, She turns 380 😍

A city that teaches life and trains the aspirants.

Mother’s guide, direct, console, rejoice and help at various situations in life. Certain things can’t be explained, it can only be felt.

No wonder, why I have referred “SHE” above. Many a time I relate myself emotionally with MADRAS and obviously I have experienced that “Mother” factor from this City.

Being a guy from the down south rural village, I wasn’t much aware of anything until I came to Madras. The first time when I reached here, I was welcomed with huge traffic all the way from Perungalathur to Tambaram, I never experienced this before but it made me realize how much Madras is for the people. Honeycomb is the place where Bees are! Isn’t it!!

I was totally amazed by the tall buildings, busy people, uncountable restaurants, and so on.

Initially, I questioned myself, how I am gonna survive in this city, later I personally noticed every 5th person I met here doesn’t have MADRAS as an origin. But the aura of this city made them inherit this land.

Be it a Rain, flood, cyclone, heat, curse, memories, happiness — You will always get everything in excess, and how you approach it matters the most and it will play a major role in your next move.

I could differentiate my life between BC and AC ( Before Chennai, After Chennai). I personally went through all kinds of moments in Madras and it made me a mature human (my mom told me once). 🙏

The city has actually some memorable places, even if you visit alone, You don’t feel like you are alone 😍

The Elliots beach wind will kiss you,

Thiruvanmiyur sand will listen to you,

Vadapalani Murugan Temple, Thousand Lights Mosque, Santhome Church holds a lot of memories from within and you need 1000 eyes to witness the thankful prayers in these places. 😉

The T- Nagar crowd will never make you feel frustrated,

70 yr old will play with a random 7 yr old in parks,

People who appeared on TV shows will wave their hands at you in Malls,

Marina is known for politics, Yes — Sometimes Protests too 😐

OMR is for Casuals whereas Oragadam is known for formals. Both have one thing in common called “shifts” 6–3, 9–6, 3–12👷

Goosebumps guaranteed when you sent off someone in Central and how can I miss mentioning all those happy tears in the Airport. 😢

The only thing which I tell myself whenever I depart from Koyambedu is,

I’ll Come back soon My dear! 😙

If a city means so much to a 3 yr old visitor, imagine how much more it means to the people who live here for years.

Madras Fact — If you make use of the opportunity well — You’ll Shine, no matter what.

On her 380th Birthday, Let us all commit ourselves to enhance the beauty of this city by owning a responsibility to make it clean and healthy!

Happy Birthday Madras! You mean so much to me 💚 and You know it!

I am one of those millions who benefited from this city.

நீ எந்த ஊரோட உயிரா இருந்தாலும்….

உன்ன சொந்தம் ஆக்கும் டா,

அதுதான் இந்த ஊரு டா! #Chancey_ila
