My Review of Firmoo Eye Protective Glasses
I’ve always considered myself protective of my eyes. Ever since I was little, I knew better by taking care of my eyesight and eating nutritious food that will help improve my vision. Even after all the all-nighters and eye-straining hours I had in front of my computer working on my dissertation, my eyes were perfectly fine.
But that all changed when I started working in a corporate office.
Mind you, this was already more than a couple of years back, and I recall the events in my head. Somehow, as far as I can remember, my job required me to do a variety of tasks that weren’t always necessary in front of a computer. I was assigned to do light, physical workload such as organizing our catalog and other PR items. Although there were days that I would end up going home with a lot of paper cuts, I appreciated that I had a diverse work assignment.
Fast forward to celebrating my first year with the company when a shift in my tasks was slowly starting to happen. Somehow, I found myself sitting in front of my computer for the rest of the day almost every single day of the work week. In the beginning, I didn’t mind. I was quite happy to be leaving work without any cuts on my hand from organizing a ton of flyers, files, and giveaways.
But my appreciation and contentment with being on my desk continuously were cut short.
Slowly, I was beginning to notice a change in my vision. At first, I thought that it was normal since I glued my eyes to the screen and that this was merely an after effect.
Boy, I was wrong.
I took all the symptoms for granted, including my recurring headaches and nausea.
Jumping ahead a couple of more years, when I decided to leave the corporate world finally and started focusing on my writing and other creative work, my visionary issues were still present and got worse.
I let it go for a few months, ignoring the fact that I need to see an eye doctor ASAP. And when I finally did, I felt upset.
All the years I’ve been taking care of my eyesight was torn apart because of my corporate job. Week after week of sitting in front of the computer screen from 9 to 5 and sometimes even later led to my now poor eyesight. When it hit me, I instantly realized the importance of computer glasses.
Prevention And Protection Is Key
When I started getting more technical work (meaning I was full on having a relationship with my computer), I thought about getting non-prescription glasses already. But whenever work was getting too hectic and life busy at the same time, I end up forgetting about the whole thing.
I’m still a little bummed with myself now that it took me forever to visit an eye specialist to at least get non-prescription glasses. I knew better, but I let work won.
Lucky for me, I only need to up my eye game and use computer glasses instead of prescription ones. That’s a huge plus considering how costly prescription and correctional glasses are nowadays. Somehow, the high regard I had on my vision paid out.
Still, it was time for me to be on the lookout for excellent quality computer glasses. I did not understand it before, but when I was searching for options online, I realized how there are different types of non-prescription glasses specifically designed for digital screens. I said to myself; I’m going to have to find a brand with good standing and not just look for whichever type most Instagram influencers are promoting.
I landed on a website talking about non-prescription glasses from a brand called Firmoo. I was curious and went on to search more about their products. It’s safe to say that I was instantly hooked.
Before we get into the details, let me walk you through the brand. First of all, they dub themselves a “Global Online Optical Store” carrying a wide array of both prescription and nonprescription eyewear at such a reasonable price. The production of their products is in China, which makes for the affordable cost.
Firmoo has a collection of frames that come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. They have high regard when it comes to quality and delivering glasses that will last you a very long time.
How To Choose The Right Firmoo Glasses
Like with other many other products, it is pretty crucial to know your way around when choosing the right glasses. There are quite a few things to consider which can either make or break your affection towards your purchased item.
Here are some tips to ensure that you find the most suitable Firmoo eyewear for you.
· Know What You Need
When purchasing eyewear online, you might want to check in with your eye doctor first. Depending on your visionary test results, you are going to want to search for the recommended pair for you. Do you need correctional glasses? Were you given a prescription? Or you only need an anti-glare pair for working on digital screens? Only you, with the help of a licensed professional, can answer these questions.
· Learn The Types Of Lenses
There are three basic types of lenses for computer eyewear. A single vision computer glass reduces the risk of a blurry vision and eye strain. This type of lens is appropriate for anyone who uses digital technologies. A progressive occupational lens is multifocal that corrects near, intermediate, and distant visions. This lens offers a more comfortable vision when using a computer. However, it isn’t suitable for doing long-distance tasks. Lastly, there’s the occupational bifocal and trifocal lenses. These offer a higher zone for near and intermediate visions. They are also customizable depending on your specific computer needs.
· Decide On A Frame
Lastly, you’re going to want to choose a frame that suits your face shape. If you have an oval face shape, you are in luck. Most frames would look good on your balanced proportions. Try a walnut-shaped design that’s not too deep or narrow. Heart-shaped faces can work with thin, light-colored structures while a square face looks best with small, oval frames. If you have a round face, consider a rectangular frame to give a more balanced structure and lengthen the face.
Although you won’t be wearing your computer glasses all the time, it’s essential to think about the factors which make eyewear more appealing. Trust me; it’s best to have them look lovely on you.
Firmoo Glasses Review
Now that we’ve covered the general stuff and what you need to know, it’s time to choose which model will be suitable for you.
Before I decided to write this Firmoo review, I waited a couple of months after my purchase to see how it looked and felt when I’m wearing them. I took down a few notes every time I notice something while I have them on. If you want to know my complete thoughts about the Firmoo computer glasses, feel free to read on.
I’d also like to mention that this is not a sponsored review nor am I getting paid for writing this. I was honestly curious about the product when I needed it, and I bought it myself. So, here is my honest opinion towards two of Firmoo’s eyewear.
Firmoo Non-Prescription Oversized Computer Glasses Blue Light Filter Lens

The first Firmoo eyewear I’m going to talk about is this non-prescription computer glasses. It’s oversized eyewear with blue light filter lens which makes it perfect for people who continuously use the computer.
Why are they perfect? We’ll get to that later.
First of all, you have to know why the blue light filter lens is essential in eyewear.
The blue light has the shortest wavelengths in the visible light spectrum. Also called blue-violet or violet light, this light ray contains the highest energy and is harmful to humans. Today, we are open to the exposure of blue light because of all the technology we have like LED lighting and flat-screen televisions. Computers and smartphones, which we use regularly, also emit a significant amount of blue light.
Unfortunately, our eyes cannot handle too much blue light nor is it very good at blocking it either. Because of our daily exposure to blue light, we experience digital eye strain. Aside from this side effect, blue light is also partly responsible for our sleepless nights.
So, what makes the filter lens great?
Because of these health issues, the need to wear eyeglasses with blue light filter lens has become more popular. This lens protects our eyes from absorbing too much blue light, which makes it an excellent product for constant computer and smartphone users.
Apart from the blue light filter lens of this Firmoo eyeglass, it also has anti-reflective and non-polarized lens. The anti-reflective lens is a coating that allows you to see and look better. Also called AR coating or anti-glare coating, anti-reflective lens improves your vision while reducing eye strain. Regular plastic lenses, for instance, only absorbs 92% of available light. This type of glass can be troublesome and even dangerous especially during conditions such as night driving. The AR coating ensures that there is more light reflected from the surface of the lens. It also features an anti-scratch and anti-radiation coating.
When it comes to this eyewear’s structure, this oversized eyeglass has a composite frame of plastic and metal materials. The lightweight plastic material offers great comfort to the wearer while the metal parts ensure the safety of each linkage.
The first time I tried on this particular pair, I noticed that it was extremely comfortable and lightweight. That’s thanks to the transparent plastic material. It sat on my nose bridge just fine, and the temples didn’t feel too loose at all. I went into my bathroom to check myself out in the mirror and realized I made a good choice in this particular frame design. It’s very stylish without being an obnoxious accessory in my face.
After taking a few (well, honestly, like a dozen) selfies, I knew I was already in love. The final test was actually to put its particular lens into use. I opened my computer and set the brightness on to the highest option. I sat down and started browsing my Pinterest board. It wasn’t until I was a couple of episodes deep in Netflix when I realized how comfortable the glasses were.
Usually, without any eye protection, I only last two hours of continuous computer use until my eyes would start to get dry. On a typical workday, I usually take a 5 to 10-minute break away from my screen every hour. But that was then, and this is now.
I noticed how I did not get dry eyes nor did my headache come to play after approximately three hours in front of the computer, with this pair of glasses of course. Until today, I always wear this particular pair whenever I’m working.
For your reference, this oversized computer eyeglasses with blue light filter come in a 51 mm lens width and weigh approximately 17 grams.
· Stylish design
· Lightweight material
· Effective blue-light filter
· No color distortion
· 30-day refund
· 90-day warranty
· None. I am so in love with this pair.
Firmoo Customized Non-Prescription Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Moving on to the other pair of glasses, this one is also non-prescription with blue light filters blocking the lens. It comes in a composite frame with the composite and non-polarized lens. Although it comes with almost all the same features of the other pair, this one is available for customization, meaning you can have the lens changed for a prescription one. If you prefer to leave it alone, you can still enjoy the benefits of this lens including the blue light blocking filter, anti-reflecting, UV coating, and anti-scratch.
This customizable pair comes in a transparent color frame with gold spring hinges. That touch of gold makes for quite an elegant touch, and that’s what I love most about this one. It goes great with any outfit because of its minimalistic style.
Just like the first one, this pair is also very lightweight. I remember when I had a long night because of a deadline and when I finished, I immediately lied in bed. I hadn’t noticed that I was still wearing my glasses until I placed one arm on my forehead and I brushed through the frame. I took the glasses off and closed my eyes again. I smiled a little before falling asleep, thinking about just how lightweight this pair was.
For your reference, this particular eyeglasses is 48 mm in height, 1.5 mm wide, and has a lens width of 52 mm.
· Minimalistic style
· Blue light blocking lens
· No color distortion
· 30-day refund
· 90-day warranty
· My only issue here is that the temples weren’t as fastened as I hoped. But I was able to fix that with a little screwdriver action. It didn’t unscrew or break up ever since.
Both styles of the Firmoo non-prescription computer eyeglasses are excellent choices. I don’t just consider wearing them when working, but I also wear them outside when I feel like it matches my clothes.
Is it worth it?
You might be wondering if Firmoo eyewear is even worth it. To tell you honestly, I wouldn’t be reviewing them, or take my time to use them, if I was not satisfied. Actually, before I even purchased my pairs, I was already impressed by how the Firmoo eyeglasses pleasantly gratified a lot of buyers. And to answer the question, yes, they are incredibly worth it.
I never really understood how important a pair of eyeglasses were until I needed one for work. After experiencing headaches after headaches and getting itchy, dry eyes after a whole day in front of a digital screen, I realized that the worth you should be considering is you and your health.
Think about it for a second.
It is no secret that we do so many things with our eyes. We live, we work, and we play with our eyes. So it only makes sense to be taking good care of them. All day we stare at the computer to go home and relax by playing mobile games or browsing through different apps. Yes, of course, it’s a given since we live in a digital world today. But when we were dying to get our hands on the latest iPhone or working our asses off to impress a client, we always neglect to protect our eyes. Improper eye results to headaches, eye strain, fatigue, insomnia, and many more.
Trust me; I’ve been there. When you’re so tired, and you want to go to sleep but couldn’t because of all the blue light that has penetrated your eyes. It’s depressing at some point to go through it.
So if you want to work more efficiently, or you want to be able to fall asleep at a decent hour, perhaps it’s time to consider getting a pair (or more) of blue light blocking eyeglasses. For the price of Firmoo eyewear, it wouldn’t be so difficult to land on a decision.
Which one is best?
I have yet to buy other designs of Firmoo eyeglasses, although I am planning to real soon. My personal choice between the two computer eyewear featured in this review is the first one. The Firmoo Non-Prescription Oversized Computer Glasses Blue Light Filter Lens just felt better and looked better on me. But you know, this will ultimately depend on your taste and face shape.
What about you? Which Firmoo eyewear are you most interested in buying?
