Choosing the Right Font for Your Brand

You have chosen a unique name for your company, created a catchy tagline and picked perfect colors for your brand. But wait, you are not done yet. Don’t forget about the important component of visual communication i-e fonts.
Fonts communicate more than words. Just like color reveals emotions similarly typography or fonts says a lot about your business or brand. Choosing a font can be an intimidating process. Ensures whatever font you choose it resonates with your brand. Remember the right font will convey the right message whereas the wrong font will distract the users. Serif or Sans Serif
Fonts are generally characterized between two key differences, whether they are serif fonts or sans serif fonts. Serif have extra lines attached to their letters and gives a traditional look. Times New Roman is a common serif font.
Sans serif fonts are considered modern ones. Helvetica is one of them. Script and decorative fonts do exist but generally they are the kind of go-to style for regular branding. Once you have narrowed down the choice of Sans Serif or Serif, your branding will give more traditional or modern vibe.
How Legible is the Font?
Using a creative font doesn’t mean it is the best choice. Overdoing of font design won’t give your brand the life it deserves.
To check the legibility is simple. Make sure every letter is readable and distinguishable from other letters. If the font is taking too much space or lack in definition, then switch to another font.
Corresponding or Contrasting Font?
The logo has one font and the tagline or written materials may have completely different ones. These different font type can either correspond or contrast with each other. But surely you do not want to confuse your customer to pay attention in figuring out if the font is same or not.
