“Tamale” The Cuisine of Ancient Aztecs and Mayans

Mexico, a country in North America, is not only famous for its Cowboys. Instead, it has a variety of traditional and famous culinaries. One of them is "Tamale". A cuisine that dates back to the ancient Aztecs and Mayans.

Its a corn based dish made from corn starch dough and added with fruits, vegetables, or meat as filings. The dough is then wrapped in banana or corn leaves and steamed. Tamale is so delicious and healthy because it doesn't go through the frying process.

Has Existed Thousand Years Ago

Tamale, which is called Tamalli in Nahuatl language, means "wrapped". This food originated in Mexico and then spread to the surrounding region, especially the Central American region. It became a very famous food in the Mesoamerican region. Tamale is a traditional food that is believed to have existed and have been made since the Ancient Maya (1200–250 BC).
