This is a guide for getting started using the online SONM GUI Wallet. The wallet is available at (https://market.sonm.com). The SONM GUI helps to explore and use the SONM network in a visual way. On this page you can track your miners (workers) , find new deals to rent computing power, track your wallet and withdraw funds. The SONM network operates on a side-chain of the Ethereum network, using the SONM GUI you can transfer SONM between the SONM side-chain and the Ethereum main-net.

Getting Started: The first time you go to the SONM GUI page it should look something like Figure 1.

Figure 1

On this screen, you have 2 pieces of information to enter to continue, wallet name and Password (enter twice). Enter a wallet name, a strong password twice and click the create wallet button to continue. If you need help creating a strong password use a random generator (preferably one offline only). Ensure that ‘livenet’ is selected in the pulldown to work on the main-net for SONM/Ethereum. If you are just testing you can select ‘rinkeby’ and this will take you to the test network.

Figure 2

After login, you will be taken to the screen shown in Figure 2. This will show you both Ethereum and SONM balances on the Ethereum chain, as well as your SONM balance on the SONM sidechain. (sidechain balance is identified as ‘On SONM’)

Notice that there are 2 buttons on this screen labeled Import account or Create account. Before we move on, here are some quick definitions of how Wallet and Account are used on the SONM GUI page.

Wallet: Your Sonm GUI login, protected by the login and password created in the first step. If you return to https://market.sonm.com/ on the same computer and browser it will remember you so you only have to enter your password. You can also backup your wallet file to import and login later.

Account: Individual Ethereum Wallets, these can be imported from other sources, such as myetherwallet.com or created in the SONM GUI.

The first thing you want to do when you get to this screen is click the top left button, Export Wallet. This will create a backup of your sonm wallet in case you need to return to the wallet. Store this file in a safe place.

After you have backed up your wallet, it is time to create an account. Click the create account button and complete the form to create a new account, you can leave the private key blank.

After you have successfully created an account, it will be visible on the main wallet screen.

Figure 4

At this time you have finished setting up your account. Now you can add some Ethereum and/or SONM and begin using SONM as a customer or selling excess computational power as a supplier.

Additional Features:

You can also import an account using the keystore / JSON file. To do so click the import account button and complete the required fields, assigning an account name and entering a password if applicable.

Figure 5

The door icon in the top right corner will allow you to exit your wallet. To return to your wallet after exiting, you will need to use the same browser and login with your password, or import the wallet file you created earlier.

Figure 6

When you return to the SONM GUI page after logging out, you will see a screen as shown in Figure 6. Here you can login again using your password.

If you find that you have come to a page similar to Figure 1 above instead, you can click import wallet and import the backup of the wallet you created previously.
