Paubox Kahikina Scholarship 2023 Update
And just like that, I’m one-half of the way through college. Life as a sophomore was great — I took a bunch of interesting classes, had tons of fun, and got to live with five of my best friends.

I got more involved in the Harvard community this year. I served as the vice president of the recently recreated surf club. I joined the financial analysts club as a senior investment researcher, where I helped manage a $44k long/short equity fund and specialized in small-cap renewable energy companies. I was also a member of the clean energy group and natives club.
After debating my major my entire freshman year, I finally landed on economics. The content I’m learning is ever-so-relevant with all of the crazy current events and recent shifts in the global economy. I also plan to take environmental engineering courses to better understand the impact of financial markets on clean energy transition.
Over the summer, I was an investment banking summer analyst at Credit Suisse in Los Angeles. The hours were brutal, but I learned so much in just seven weeks and had an absolute blast. I’m happy to be back home on Oʻahu for the remainder of break and can’t wait to start my junior year of college.
Thank you, Hoala and Paubox, for your continued support!
