The Meek Indian Diplomacy
The Meek Indian Diplomacy

[E]veryday on a daily basis whenever an average Indian reader glances through the daily newspaper, he is constantly provided cum bombarded with intense wretchedness that seems unable to match the shining India mirage being pursued and promised by the present leadership. These reports range from political agendas to international global handshakes and hugs.

Reality of everyday Indian news mainly consists of gang rapes, murders, acid being thrown over girls, dacoity, mob lynching people and killing them over alleged beef consumption, rains bringing every metropolis of the nation to a halt, corruption, political scandals, ministers having heavy criminal records, child labour, human trafficking, such are just a few of the tip of the iceberg which are never reported on the front page of the newspapers and end up being on the third page columns and such wretchedness keeps constantly increasing like a fast melting glacier in today’s era of global warming.
The front page headlines are primarily reserved for the international handshakes and global political diplomacy which helps the reader believe the soon to be shinning India, the soon to be gleaming India and the upcoming incredible and amazing India.
The present leadership has been happily presenting cum rubbing the ‘acche din’ motto from the very first day of campaigning but the ground level reality seems to be still the same as they were under the umbra of the previous leadership. It seems quite odd that the present leadership has been very busy impressing the western economies and has been flaunting the ‘Shining India’ and ‘Make in India’ motto to great heights yet unable to address the basic root causes that WILL actually make India shine to the potential it actually holds.
International Backdrop
The geo-political global situation’s that have at present been arising are of some such nature that will now determine the coming future of India’s standing position in the upcoming international order. That some facts in the at-present world cannot be ignored when it comes to the international geo-political chaos and the basin of fire that the present world is in, with the examples being evident ranging from the NATO standoff in Europe with Russia on Ukraine or the middle east crisis for the proxy wars opened at various fronts in Syria and Iraq or the Saudi sword being shown to Qatar for accepting its position on its own or face raw consequences.
Ignoring what caused the present chaos in the Middle East or in Europe, which is further worsened by the ‘refugee migration’ by the displacement of civilians due to the war torn nations of Middle East which is the result of ascertaining a voice of a non dollar trade modus and the consequences that follow them who dare to stand against the fiat dollar.
The international economic order is based on the foundations of the US dollar which runs, funds, controls the international global hierarchy and organisations ranging from the IMF (International Monetary Fund) to the UN (United Nations). That there has been sudden shift in the International order and this has been able to make nations choose their own mutual currency of trade and not depend on the US Dollar.
That the world is now witnessing a transition of power from a uni-polar world to a multi-polar world and the message has been well received by them who chose to act first AND sadly the Indian diplomacy has been very confused regarding what to do.
Lose Global Stance
That the international order is now in a state of turmoil and chaos with USA being a declining power similar to the situation of the United Kingdom after the Second World War and due to war torn recession and financially being unable to keep control, there were many voices in the world across and revolts that eventually lead to the overthrowing of the British Kingdom in various parts from India to Africa. The history is repeating itself again just for the difference that this time instead of the UK it is USA and again it is unable to keep its control over the world through its uni-polar economic powerhouse that it always was and instead of retiring maturely it now brings the world to a condition where peaceful countries are being bombarded, destroyed or soon to be destroyed because apart from the weakening dollar the other thing that the US has is a very heavy arm of ‘military industrial complex’ which refuses to withdraw maturely without a fight.
A brief history is required to be visited at this point of the write-up and goes back to the Second World War as the western countries after defeat of the Nazi Germany created a State of Israel in the Middle East by chopping a portion of ‘Palestine’ and making it the land of Jews. The United Nations was appointed as a watchdog by USA enterprise and backed by many western nations, to certify that the state of Israel does not face any territorial problems. To ensure that the state of Israel is never troubled by any of its neighbours, it was decided to keep the entire region in a state of unrest with either financial or terror crisis in forms of restrictions from Palestine to Iran or Iraq. Speaking of Iraq it is an example how the UN works in favour of Israel. Iraq was blamed of developing weapons of mass destruction and was invaded by USA in the name of ‘freedom and democracy’ and was converted into dust and when the ruling Saddam Hussain’s’ government was thrown by the US military industrial complex and there was a severe unrest in Iraq for who will be in power after the acting government was removed, leaving the country war torn and in a state of complete mess and vacuum in the name of American freedom. Hence for existence of Israel it is important to create unrest in the Middle East.
India has always voiced its concerns over the international platforms favouring Palestine and it has always condemned the atrocities and crimes done by the Israel over Palestine. India has lately diluted its stance over Palestine ever since India has become the largest importer of weapons and Israel is another happy arms seller to the growing Indian defence needs, in return India is trying to balance itself between its own words once spoken favouring Palestine as well as now trying to impress Israel for its own needs ranging from defence co-operation to research and development.
India in order to gain some good points in front of the western countries and allies has put on a political diplomatic cosmetic makeup to impress all the western UN signatories by lately developing a very pro-Israeli stance and has also ignored the recent continuing violent bombings by Israel on Palestine. India in order to make itself western oriented democratic nation has put on a lot of effort to make India shine in the western countries but this has not yielded much result to favour India in any way.
Blindly Being Western
India has put on the diplomatic makeup to appear pro ‘Israel’ primarily because it wants to be in the good books of USA and other western powers. However there is another side of this story. Indian residents in USA are lobbying to make India and USA develop a healthy alliance because of the various ventures that both the countries have promised each other to enter together ranging from defence, information technology, intelligence sharing to fight terrorism and primarily to counter ‘Pakistan’ which itself is a very important factor for India and the vote bank for Indian leadership. This in return has made India isolated within its own neighbourhood China has made itself very clear about ‘Pakistan’ being a front runner in the fight against terrorism and that Pakistan is their most natural ally. China has made Pakistan a very important ally ever since the OBOR (One Belt One Road) dream project of Chinese premier ‘Xi Jinping’ has been brought to life. In return Indian stance was not in favour of the OBOR project, India though invited did not attend the OBOR host celebration to show China that India was not pleased with the same.
In return India did something that was an insecure diplomatic move by heading over to Europe and meeting the German chancellor ‘Angela Merkel’ and other EU counterparts. India hoped to take the shadow of the EU by asserting that the Chinese OBOR project highway is within the POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir), however ‘Angela Merkel’ very subtly educated ‘Prime Minister Modi’ that it appreciates India’s concern over the growing Chinese influence in its region however it cannot ignore the OBOR project because in simple words trade between ‘Germany and India’ is approx 9 Billion Euros AND at the same time trade between ‘Germany and China’ is approx 187 Billion Euros, as a matter of fact China has overtaken USA and become the biggest trading partner of not just Germany but also various other European countries.

Europe in every matter will always look forward to grow their trade with China and especially with the OBOR project it is more likely to further grow in the coming years. EU will grow their trade prospects with China since it is also clear that the USA is a declining partner in trade and to somehow get itself out of the US trade dependence.
China has also developed a very healthy trade relation with Russia and many other Asian countries and has been countering the US hegemony and has also been very assertive with the same. It is very evident that China has a global say in the world geo-politics and with also being a permanent member of the UN Security Council it will always continue to have so, with India China crumbling relations, China at the same time will also ensure that India should boon at their discretion and will continue blocking India’s bid for the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
India has also signed the SCO (Shanghai Co-operation Organisation) along with Pakistan but to make the most of it India should also have been a partner in the OBOR and should make the most of the trade prospects and diplomatic resolution to resolve things maturely with China as well as to develop the big business venture between Asia and Europe this in return has shown Indian diplomacy in a very confused light.
China has shown positive signs by inviting India to the host celebrations of the OBOR and India should act maturely and figure out a way to resolve the same because in the coming future China & India will both be global players and since both being Asian countries should ensure that there is no such possibility for any such vacuum that may possibly create an unrest in Asia or in our immediate neighbourhood.
The Indian assertion is that the OBOR is passing via Pakistan occupied Kashmir’ (POK) which is a disputed region, but again there is another side to this, as it will bring India, China, Pakistan as well as Russia on the same table which will also be beneficial for India as it will help in curbing terrorism with the prospects of development in the unstable region and with Russian partners being on the same table India should not have much to be worried when it comes to Pakistan.
Loosing Russian Interest.
When in the year 1971 the then Prime Minister ‘Indira Gandhi’ determined to liberate ‘Bangladesh’ from ‘Pakistan’ and Pakistan being a sturdy US ally because India was a proud Soviet supporter and due to which the US president ‘Nixon’ decided to send their warships to the Indian waters to ensure that India fails in liberating Bangladesh. It was with thanks to the Russian brothers that the US warships were unable to enter in the Indian waters because the Russians had already placed many of their highly advanced nuclear attack submarines to ensure that the US is unable to obstruct the liberation process of ‘Bangladesh’. If for example US would have been able to interfere in the liberation process of Bangladesh then it may not sound surprising, that the situation would have ended up being similar to that of what happened with Vietnam, Iraq, Libya or any other nation where US has marched right in the name of ‘Freedom’.
India was a proud supporter and ally of USSR until 1990’s when the USSR was split and formed into Russia, it was then in 1992 the then finance minister ‘Manmohan Singh’ opened the economy to foreign companies. However post the 2008 financial meltdown and with the continued western recession the financial world as standing today is of a very volatile nature. With investment resources being limited and with rising financial debt as well as when looked under the lens of trade and economy, at present China is the world’s biggest and growing trading partner and with the one belt one read ‘OBOR’ initiative it will further grow more and developed nations are more favourable in doing business with China due to the specialized infrastructure and modern industries which is more business friendly and unlike India it is neither struggling with the social state failures ranging from ‘rapes’ to ‘open defecation’ nor ‘corruption’ or acid being thrown over girls. Such form of heinous incident have brought India in such a light that the world still views India like a third world state if not more.
India also seems playing Russian roulette with the Russians by sidelining them in recent years by shifting focus towards ‘west’ and not realising that it was the Russian’s who have helped India all throughout in developing the defence related ‘know-how’ as well as many various other ventures ranging from nuclear programs to space programs that India and Russia have decided to pursue together. India lately having a more western stance has alerted ‘Kremlin’ and now the Russian’s are openly showing that they are not very pleased with the Indian diplomacy (as evident from ‘Vladimir Putins’ remark on Indians in June-2017 in the ‘Megyn Kelly’ interview where Modi was also in the hot seat).

India should not forget that though today’s Russia may (temporarily) be a bit financially strained due to western sanctions but technologically it was and always will be a powerhouse for centuries to come there is no denying or questioning that. Russia has also dodged the western sanctions geo-politically especially by projecting their power and authority in ‘Syria’ and the world across the message has been clearly received that they are to be taken seriously and have emerged back to being the world power that it is and not just a regional power that it was a decade back.
Conclusion
Sadly the Indian leadership is confused and appears more concerned as to who eats or not eats ‘beef’ and saffron goons bashing them over alleged beef consumption and the so called ‘Gau Rakshaks’ (Cow Protectors) have the nerve to take the laws in their own hand and vandalise in the name of what is right in their own un-trained opinion and sadly issues like woman’s safety, increasing crimes, open defecation, child labour, weakening education system, human trafficking or rising un-employment all seem forgotten and long lost in the artificial concept of democracy and ‘acche din’.
The funny part is India ends up pleasing and impressing the western nations in the name of a democratic India which appears to be not only fake but stupid as well and the interesting part is, at the same time the so called ‘western ally’s’ in fact know the ‘real India. The poor India’ and views our nation as more or less like a third world country where it is okay to ‘piss’ on the roads but not ‘kiss’ on the roads.
The Indian diplomacy should now find a way to carve its own niche in today’s volatile international global scenario and instead of being a blind western follower it must introduce its own preamble regarding the role it wants to play in the soon coming future ranging from Asia in the east to the west and actions of the Indian diplomacy should be loud enough and speak for itself, instead of the hugs and greetings that have not yielded much result when it comes to the ordinary citizen’s daily life.
The illusion of shining India can only be brought to life with first and foremost paying attention to the immediate atmosphere within the our own country and solving each and every such civil and social problem because it is only with the clean insides can you have a healthy outside. It is only with happy and healthy mindset of citizens can a country be a proud nation that can strive to be in its full potential that the course wants it to be and hopes it to be.
