There has been discussion of this for over a year. There is near unanimous agreement amongst all technical experts of the soundness of the proposal. It meets the requirements of increasing capacity and allows for further scaling solutions. The only arguments against it are pure FUD, which makes me question the integrity of those wishing to stop it. The only reason to oppose SegWit is the desire to cripple Bitcoin.
