Separate to Connect

It’s been a while since I have took finger to buttons, but I have been feeling an urge to write and what better place to scratch this stuff down than here on Medium.

A few things have been entering my field of observation recently, mainly concerning the way we all interact and operate in our world.

  • The connectedness through technology.
  • The disconnectedness of our immediate surroundings.
  • The somewhat forced narrative of globalization by the ‘elites’.
  • Our fascination and obsession with global affairs and news. Which could also be referred to as propaganda.

Are we a lost civilization?

When we step back and take a good hard look at where we’re all going as a species, what do you see? What are we all doing? What is it all for?

Are we here to destroy the very planet that we inhabit, or are we here to enjoy the fruits of this wonderful living organism, which despite years of searching; have found no other like it!

It seems that people all over the world are triggering each other and causing a lot of pain for one another. Relationships are getting tense and there’s been a lot of disillusionment happening. This energy has recently appeared in astrology too. (Something I’ve been studying for a little while now).

So why all this tension?

Well Dressed Monkeys

Apparently monkeys can only function up to a certain sized group before they decide to split and create smaller groups. As we are merely ‘well dressed monkeys’, are we shooting along the wrong path by creating a ‘global village’.

Other research shows that as a human we can only manage 150 friends, before we can lose control of this information. By knowing more people, we dilute our relationships. By living in big cities, we can lose connection and seem to have a weak voice in regards to choosing how our community is run.

Over the last few months I have been building a tiny house, and as such have been understanding the pull towards living in smaller communities.

Is all this information pointing towards a new way of living?

Smaller Communities

Should we be abandoning a global elitist form of control where we’re all simply obeying orders from an all seeing, all knowing leadership? Or should we perhaps be gravitating towards smaller, more autonomous, tightly connected communities, where we all know each other and work together as a team?

Many people have been talking about ‘finding their tribe’, is this the path we should now be looking for? Can the Brexit hype actually be a useful trigger to start the conversation about smaller communities and separation from the global picture and movement towards a more sustainable and connected way of life? Not connected to the entire globe, but connected to our immediate surroundings and humans.

We all know who Donald Trump is, yet you might not know your neighbours name! How does that help us build community?

It’s time to pull back from the hype, pull back from being popular in the world, to the masses, and to focus your attention down to your local tribe.

Disconnect from the grid, the matrix, the controlling global elite and turn towards our neighbours. Build REAL community, work together as a small team and perhaps we can birth mini movements towards sustainable living that is self governing based on the needs of the group.

Let’s provide our own power, let’s catch our own water, let’s grow our own food, let’s build our own houses from the earth.

When we take our power back and stop handing it to politicians and media moguls, then they will have no purpose in this world. They will fade away, and no one will replace them, as there is truly no need for them.

It’s time to build our tribes, to build our tiny villages, to return to the land and give back to our planet.

It’s time to mobilize and create something wonderful, it’s going to take some time, which is why you have to start talking to your neighbours today.

It’s time to realize that we all need to work together, to re-develop lost skills that every human should have and to return to our tribes.

For this to work, we need to develop our relationship skills. We need to talk, to communicate, to listen and to embody compassion. We need to soften our ego, open our arms and connect on a deep level.

We have much healing to do, but I have faith that we will find the path that we must tread.

Enjoy this journey and know that in order for you to truly serve, you must not expect to see the results of your work in this lifetime, but know that what you do makes a difference and that eventually, your work will pay off. Give up the need to reap the results, but understand that the future needs you now.

Do it for the others.
