Plenty of local and fresh produce like Coke Farms gold beets, Heirloom Organics cherry tomatoes, and Hodo organic tofu.
Two soup options available daily. Cream of Broccoli is a winner.
Bread selection: Pan-O-Rama Dutch crunch rolls tempt me every time.
MAINS
There are standing Chinese and Indian food sections called ‘Lo Dau’s Place’ or ‘Hao Chi’ with dishes like garlic naan (yum!), bean curd noodle, and stir-fried bok choy. There are always plenty of vegetarian-friendly dishes involving tofu. Everything is labeled with vegan, vegetarian, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, shellfish, wheat, egg, dairy, etc.
I’m always impressed with the ingredients used like bone marrow, halibut, black cod, and some uncommon ones like wood ear mushrooms, fava beans, and goji berries.
There’s always a rotating selection of tossed salads and pizzas. Clean options available daily like roasted chicken breast, steamed rainbow carrots, and roasted zucchini.
DESSERTS
Usually only one offering per day, like bite-sized pumpkin cheesecakes that are healthier and less sugary. Promoting healthy eating habits is on trend, and LinkedIn is no exception.
DRINKS
Again with healthy habits. No sodas and sugary fruit juices here. There’s only fruit-infused waters aptly named ‘spa water’ in flavors like watermelon lime and mango blackberry. If you want other drinks, you have to go to the coffee bar.
COFFEE BAR
Equator coffee. Variety of coffees and teas, lattes, chai lattes, and a specialty seasonal offering (ex: maple latte). There is also a daily smoothie selection like blueberry oats or mango strawberry. Max of 2 drinks per person, so no hoarding.
SNACK SELECTION
Snacks are available on the individual floors and in common spaces. Drinks in the fridge like Tejava tea, Sound sparkling rose tea, and Obi probiotic root beer. Some common tech company offerings like Cosmic kettlecorn, but a few delights like Copper Cup turmeric latte mix, Nib Mor drinking chocolate, Teatulia loose leaf teas, Unreal dark chocolate peanut butter cups, Chuao honeycomb chocolate bars, and Farmhouse Culture Kraut Krisps sauerkraut chips.
NOTES
There are 5 total cafeterias. I’ve had the chance to try 700 E. Middlefield Bldg 3 and 950 West Maude.
For Halloween, there was a company event with plenty of Halloween-themed desserts, candy, and beer. A staff member walked around with a cart full of candy offering treats to anyone who crossed her path.
