I love this, about the rejection letter thing, this is something I think is part of a larger problem: People who know something about the tech involved don’t always seem to be involved in writing those letters. Or at all. But they should be. I mean don’t companies realize that this is one of the reasons young PhD students opt for a science career? Because they hear such stories from industry? The may safe time by sendig out formula X letters, but I think they are really alienating exactly the people they would ideally want to find.
