Hey, I’ve just finished reading your article. I like the subject you’re trying to address! However, I don’t agree that comfort is the solo purpose of life. When i was in college, we went through some of the best works of Aristotle. And that was one of the eye of opening moments of my life lol. According to him, the ultimate purpose of human life or existence is “happiness.” Why? everything we do is for the sake of it and it’s the only thing that’s wanted for itself. Why people want to lead a good life, buy a nice car, fall in love, get a good career, travel all over the world? simply because they want to be happy. But why they want to be happy? because they want be happy. see, everything is means to it and it’s the only thing that’s an end in itself. Every activity and every object is wanted for the sake of it. Let’s take an example: you go to school, why? to get good grades. why get good grades? to be able to enroll into some of the best universities out there. Why? if you graduate from a good university, You’ll be able to land at good paying job. why good paying job? because you can support your family and can buy or do anything you want without worrying about money and all of which makes you HAPPY. Another short example: Why people people divorce, simply because they’re not happy together. So, every single activity we do is ultimately aimed to achieve the one thing in the end, happiness which consists of all kinds of pleasure such as peace, joy, satisfaction, fulfillment and comfort. So, to some degree you’re right but not completely. Purpose of human life is just way more than leading a comfortable life, comfort is the just the stepping stone, not the ultimate purpose. Just wanted to express my opinion and keep up the good work!
