President Rodrigo’s Duterte Drug War: IN FIGURES
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will deliver his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 23.
One of the more notable programs initiated by the Duterte administration is “Project Tokhang,” a nationwide anti-narcotics campaign.
Before his speech, AlterNation presents the figures of the Philippine drug war, from the statistics provided by Malacañang, PNP, and the Human Rights Watch (HRW).
According to Malacañang, about 118,000 drug offenders arrested in anti-drug operations and 16,355 deaths tagged as “homicides under investigation.”
According to the Philippine National Police’s statistics, 118,287 drug offenders arrested in anti-drug operations and 3,967 drug offenders are dead as of November 27, 2017.
On the Human Rights Watch (HRW) reports last January 2018, 12,000 EJKs are identified. 4,000 out of 12,000 victims remain unidentified.
