Exactly. Because what does that imply? Vulnerability. And real men are not supposed to be vulnerable, because vulnerability is weak, and weak is an indictment of masculinity. And enter homophobia, because if you’re not masculine, you must be gay. Which is where the damage is in positioning masculinity and homosexuality as mutually exclusive.
