Great article. I have a Ph.D. in History, with a very strong background in Economics History and Anthropology, and I tried to argue with him about his “theories” on value and money, as stated in his blog. They are deeply flawed, and his only response to critics is that other people are wrong, and they haven’t done their homework going extensively through the ethnographical and historical sources. His bibliography for the bunch of articles published is no longer than 30 references. It’s ridiculous. Anyone with real expertise and knowledge in the topics he covers (apart from coding) will quickly realize that he’s been selling Cool-Aid for a long, long time.
