Shortcut for a Terminal command
As developers we like to save time, even for a tenth of the second, and that’s for a very good reason. Doing hundreds of this commands, in the end of the day, you can save yourself sometime.
Probably many developers have already making use of Terminal commands shortcut, but if that is not your case, read below to add a new shortcut (alias) for a Terminal command. As you can see below, i’m using the Laravel Artisan “php artisan” command, which is one of my favourite, but of course you can add any command you like. Ok, let’s do this…
Open Terminal and enter (might require admin password):
add the following:
alias art=”php artisan”
Save the file. Don’t forget to restart Terminal before using the new shortcut. Let me know if that worked for you.
