My Top 5 Books of 2019

At the beginning of the 2019 year, I started a new goal: reading at least 1 book a month. However, the most not so easy habit to adopt was to free some time in the schedule. Later, I found how audio-books are amazing and time saving. Listening my books on the car, during my work… I am started to be addicted.

Of course, some of the books I read sucked completely, so they can’t have their place in my must-read list.

Here are some of my favorite books I read.

#5 — Quiet, The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain

Personal development

Discovering the power of introvert people in a world dominated by extroverts. I’m not totally introverted but in some areas I totally am. You’re often left out when you’re not “like everyone else”. This book reverses the trend and shows the good aspects of an introvert.

#4— Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins

Personal development

Become aware of the importance of taking charge of yourself emotionally, mentally, physically and financially. I like how Tony Robbins see the life, it’s always a source of motivation and energy, his story is the reflection of who he is today. He gives us some tips to get more aware of ourselves.

#3 — The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss


Optimizing our work hours to free time for ourselves. I like this kind of book on work hours optimization and Tim is a great example. He shows us how he outsourced all the difficult tasks of his projects and his perspective on work.

#2 — The Lean Startup by Eric Ries


How to create an innovation driven and agile startup. The must read for all entrepreneur who want to start a business. It’s the less boring book I read about entrepreneurship. Eric reveals all the struggles and tips to found a good startup, based on its experience at Imvu.

#1 — The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

How to stop being “positive” every time to be happier and better.

This is the best book I read in 2019. As you can see, I read a lot of personal development book all about positive mindset and blabla. But this book is a breakthrough. It disrupts all the ideas of this world about being positive, work hard and so on. It helps to become ourselves and accept that there always are a “luck” factor for success.

For 2020, I fixed a goal of 1.5 book a month. Let’s get started and see you next year !
