If you’re 14 years old, and you want to start coaching others, you can.
You have 14 damn great years of life experience my friend! In fact, whether you’ve realized it or not, you already are a coach (you don’t need any paper to prove it), just like you’re a practical psychologist, regardless of how “young” or “old” you think you are. I see a lot of people saying that it’s ridiculous the amount of new coaches that are in their twenties or thirties. Who fucking cares? Anyone who thinks someone can’t be a professional life coach or whatever the fuck they want to be, because of how many years they’ve lived in THIS lifetime, needs to become a much better student. Because it’s not about age, it’s about the attention they’ve put in the years they’ve been around. A courageous, observant, passionate 22 year old might be way wiser than an 82 year old, for the simple fact that most people relive the same year 80 times, and they think that’s experience, when it’s really just repetition of mostly fearful suppressed, limiting beliefs and habits. And viceversa. You can learn from anyone, a 5 year old, a 25 year old or a 50 year old, whether they “know” a lot or not. It’s not just up to the “teacher”. It’s up to the “student” (and we’ll always be one) to a be a great fucking student. And the better student you become, the more willing and open you are to learning from anyone and anything, the better teacher and leader you’ll be.
Yes, of course, there are better teachers, coaches, mentors than others, but that doesn’t mean most people will listen and be a great student just because the teacher has amazing experience, amazing skills and it’s maybe even older than them. Most people suck at being a student. Period. They’re too much in their close minded fucking head, thinking they already have what they need and learning more won’t help them more, and that’s just pure ignorance.
Stop holding on so much to your overprotected identity and become a much better student. Realize the universe is smart enough and “old” enough to know how you must learn (which very probably might be different from what you’ve been looking for) and it knows through who or what your new life experience and lessons should come from, and sometimes it’s through a kind of weird 17 year old kid that has realized something or remembers something you have forgotten, or through a 7 year old, or a 27 year old or a 67 year old, it doesn’t fucking matter, open up. You’ll be surprised. And if you think they couldn’t teach anything, be a better learner the next time and the next and the next, until you fucking take some value out of even apparently stupid, boring and insignificant moments or people. Until you don’t do that, then you’ll always keep searching for the magic pill, and nothing will ever be enough in your life nor will you ever become that awesome teacher or that awesome leader or that awesome realization, you’ve been trying to find.
