The Interested Challenge

I was with my family in my house on Tuesday noon, all of a sudden I got a call on my mobile from my college teacher Dr. Kashif Bashir who has been moved to London for higher studies. Nowadays he is back to Pakistan on 15 days Eid vacations. He asked me to come to one of my best and college friend’s house as sir was already there. So I rushed to his house in just 10 minutes.

It was my first meeting with my sir since he has moved to London so I had many questions in my mind. We had a sitting of almost 2 hours and the conversation went very well. I would love to share some of my questions.

Me: How are you doing sir. It has been long time since we met last?

Sir: Alhamdulilah I am doing great. Yes, I have to move abroad and I have been there since January 2015 and it is my first visit after that.

Me: What forced you to go to London I mean you had your job in Agriculture University Faisalabad then why you left this?

Sir: As I was gold medalist in M.phil so I offered a job from my university on a contract of 4 years. This contract was about to come to an end, then I cleared my GAT and applied for Phd in Comsats Islamabad. There I got scholarship from HEC in collaboration with British Government which forced me to move abroad.

Me: In which institute of London you are studying and what is your field of specialization?

Sir: I am studying in Imperial College, ranks 2nd in the world, and I am researching on Head Cancer.

Me: How did you manage your life there as that was a new place for you?

Sir: Difficulties were started when I landed on Heathrow airport and I had to face many questions from immigration but I answered each and every question because I was quite confident as I had been invited by the British Government. First 3 weeks were quite difficult for me but then I managed myself.

Me: You spent couple of Eids away from your family and surely would have missed some special occasions in the family, how was this experience when everyone back in home was celebrating and you were there all alone?

Sir: Well, I did miss each and every special moment but when you plan to do something great you have to sacrifice something.

Me: What are your plans after completing your doctorate, will you settle there or come back to Pakistan?

Sir: I have couple of job offers there but my plan is to come back to Pakistan to serve the youth with the knowledge I learned there. I will join Comsats Islamabad as a faculty member and will serve the youth.

Me: How do you see the Western education system?

Sir: No doubt they have leading universities and their education system is very strong but there is too much talent in Pakistani students. Their minds are very sharp as compared to the students of other countries. All they need is proper guidance.

Me: what do you see the future of education in Pakistan?

Sir: There is a lot of work to be done on the education system of Pakistan and when the things will get better we will one day rule over the world InShaAllah.

Me: It was nice talking to you sir, Thank you for your time to my questions.

Sir: I will be back to Pakistan next month as I almost have done my doctorate. I will invite you at my house then we will again have such discussion.

Me: it would be a honor for me.
