Sure, it would be nice to be Leslie, but is it actually possible?

I would argue that women relate to Liz Lemon only for her flaws but rather that she is a boss in spite of her flaws. I feel like Liz makes us feel like we, too, can be successful and respected in our careers, even if the rest of our lives are not where we want them to be. Leslie, on the other hand, I love but don’t relate to at all. Sure, she’s an aspirational character, but her determination and complete over-dedication to every detail of every aspect of her life are unrealistic. What woman can have it all in the way that Leslie is? She has triplets, a successful marriage, devotes inordinate amounts of time to her friendships, and is also the most dedicated, hard-working person at her place of employment? That’s a more unrealistic representation of what women should be than the representation that is Liz Lemon.
