Vincent Giarrano “Bathtub Painting” (2021)

I pray the Lord finds me again

Reminds me I’m more than my sins

Gives me something to believe in

I can’t see him.

Blinded by the roads before me

I take one; don’t know where it leads

Who’s guiding me?

I can’t see.

And I don’t trust that I won’t fall

I don’t want to.

Today, I’d rather stay stuck

But you pick me up and

show me the way

A little light but,

It isn’t bright.

It gets dimmer by the day.

Missing promises go with the

Wasted Kisses

That I gave to myself in my wake

Saying “it’ll be okay,”

Maybe one day

Maybe one day…
