Lightly, My Love

You know, the body has memories.
Of all the places that have touched you,
Of all the people you’ve seen through,
The body remembers.
Shared intimacies, affection, care, cuddles, kisses
All the bright places. All the dark places.
All that’s been expressed out of utter joy.
All that’s been suppressed out of terrible fears.
The silences. Both the comfortable and the unpleasant.
The loneliness you felt. The wholeness you knew.
The body keeps the score.
The traumas. The pain. The struggle.
The tears you didn’t let out. The feelings which you shut off.
The anger you swallowed. The frustrations you fought within.
All that you numbed. All that you gave out.
Body keeps the score even while brain cannot keep up.
All that of your ancestors too.
Knowing this. What would you choose?
Would you carry all these and more even if it feels heavy?
Or would you set them free and choose to live lightly?
Without carrying much of anyone else in you.
Without carrying much of anything else in you.
If there’s a way to undress and burn all the world out of you
If there’s a way, to see the true you, would you not seek that?
Aren’t you curious to know what might be underneath all of these beautiful stories?
What will it feel to be free in one’s own essense?

Letting go is letting go.
The word holds more depth than any ocean ever can.
