2 Boys Had A Conversation
Max failed to show up for the training and jammed his friend Sunday, they got into a serious conversation.
Sunday was inquiring to know why his Gee Max didn’t show up for the lawn tennis training which was to prepare them for the Olympics.
Max was definitely one who dreamed a lot to be on that pitch, dressed in his colorful jersey, supporting his nation, being aired on a TV, and to crown it all, coming out with VICTORY.
However, one thing, just one thing, was pulling Max behind from showing up everyday for the training. That thing was the lack of MOTIVATION.
He needed motivation to show up, he had to lie and give excuses and blame people around him for not being able to go for the lawn tennis training.
What this dude needed to understand was exactly the 5 things Sunday told him:
“Dude, mehn!! You need nothing like motivation, you finna fin’ a way to rock n’roll, get yourself straight up to this place every single day”
“But I got no reason to since there is no motivation” Max fired back.
Sunday grinned “I’ll give you 5 reasons why you have to show up here every single day.”
“Yeah!! Speak some wisdom to me”, Max was starting to get pissed
“Number One: You Are Not The Best Out There”, Sunday hit the bullet button. Yes, you are not the best out there, you were chosen, because when there was a call, you answered. Those who didn’t answer, were left behind, not kicked out.”
“Number Two: This Is Your Chance To Show Your Worth Man! I’ve seen your desire to win, to get to the Olympics, to be a champion, to win more than ever.
So what happened?
Where did that vibe suddenly go to?
How come you now make yourself so little that you are willing to loose this opportunity to change your life because of some silly excuses?”
“Number Three: You Might Never Get This Chance Again. Think about it, will you ever have this opportunity again?
What if this Olympics is the one and only time you ever get to be on the world stage?
You just let it burst out like that?”
Max was now quiet, but his friend wasn’t done
“Number Four: If You Don’t Work Hard, You Will Never Win-. Let’s say you finally get a chance to go represent us by proxy, is it excuses that you’ll play in front of your opponent, huh?
You’ll tell them you had no money, you had no motivation, that’s why you are a loser, yeah?”
“Number Five: If You Don’t Go For The Competition, And WIN, there is no gold, no money, you simply end up worse than were you came from.
You are not just fighting for the honor, there is also the prize to be won for taking the honour.
You gotta fight harder man.”
Chilling cold…. words weren’t coming anymore from Max, it was as if he had been ghosted.
At that moment, from where I was watching these duo, it suddenly occurred to me, that you are just doing the same thing.
Giving excuses, money excuses, relationship excuses, too much work excuses.
You’ll also blame the government for your failures.
Really?
You have been doing that for the past 10, 14 years?
