What is DDU-GKY?

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is the skilling and placement initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. DDU-GKY has its origins in the Aajeevika Skills programme and the ‘Special Projects’ component of the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY). The scheme focuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of rural youth and enhancing their skills for wage employment. MoRD has notified the Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to be followed while implementing the programme. It is mandatory for all project functionaries under DDU-GKY to be trained, assessed and certified in the Standard Operating Procedures.

DDUGKY is present in 28 states and the Union Territories across 689 districts and encourages youth from over 7426 blocks. It currently has 1500+ projects being implemented by more than 700 partners across 50 industry sectors. More than 10 lakhs of candidates have been trained and over 7 lakhs of candidates have been placed at jobs till now. DDUGKY has committed an investment of more than INR 5600 crores till now, encouraging rural youth for better lives.

Ltd has now awarded the sanction to work as PIA accorded by RSLDC for skilling 2500 rural poor youth in the state of Rajasthan under DDU-GKY , a scheme of MoRD, GOI wide sanction order no F() RSLDC / skill/ DDU_GKY/ 2020–21 /21098 Dated 26–8–2020. Implementation

Implementation of DDU-GKY involves State Governments, Technical Support Agencies like the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).
