Color Through Spectrums:

You don’t have to feel trapped, you know?
There is freedom outside four walls;
These echoes you speak of
Haunt you and us all.
There may be shadows,
Darkness may be appealing.
It’s serene embrace
And quietness are best for healing.
But life cannot function without
The Sun!
It’s pure essence is energy
Feeding even the darkest ones.
Your dad loved you
He didn’t leave from his will;
My dad left me
For a hoe and some grills.
My brothers blamed me
When I got locked [up] stuck,
They said I tore
My family up.
There were times I’d drink to the moon
Till I passed flat out,
Go to work the next day
And stumbled all about.
Take a hit to the nose
Makes my eyes turn rose,
But through it all
Never lost control.
Sometimes all walls need is
A spit shine and some color,
Colored glass when shown through light
Shimmers in rainbow splendor.
Sometimes at night I hear
My old cell mates talking;
I check behind my back,
Even when I’m just walking.
Out to eat, I sit against walls
Facing the exit;
My back protected ,
And my mind glued to it all.
So you see?
This is hell for everyone
it’s not just you.
It’s what light you choose to look
At life by, what spectrums make it through.
Darkness is everywhere
But in the light,
Dark gives to new hue.
It depends on how you choose to perceive:
Beauty is freedom,
Colors are wonders,
And thoughts become things…
Physics has taught me,
Nothing is as it seems.
You add to that simple chemistry
And Percocet gives you wings!
Red, orange, yellow, green
Blue, indigo, and then violet;
To the beat of song we move along
Techni-color reliant.
You nor I can see beyond viole[n]t
Yet, colors beyond exist.
Dancing through this colored song
Caught up in spectrum bliss.
Uv and x-rays
Are below the visible spectrum.
But if you close your eyes
You can ride the waves
Of heat induced electrons.
