I think the 172 PLP MPs are aware that Corbyn could indeed win in 2020 because the poisoned chalice that the Tories have been forced into holding. If May wins will she press the article 50 button sitting like an humongous elephant in the cabinet? The continuing economic doubt may make this an uncomfortable position and may pressage another challenge from the Right of the party if it is too long in coming. Leadsom clearly intends to to…but we have die-hard Europhiles in both Labour and Tory…and secret negotiations on a New Party(!)…the Tory Party will be as split as Labour are now in Parliament…will they implode?…This is why an early election may become necessary….and this is what some in the PLP fear…as Corbyn will be in charge of uncovering a lot of material in government both sides may wish to remain hidden…
