I Too Am Sorry.

I Agreed To Be Part of Something I Don’t Believe In

Heather is mistaken. I am not a racist. My sentence was taken out of context. The title to that story was, “Why does everything have to be about race?”

Anytime someone starts a sentence with “A black man” or “A Mexican” or “A Hispanic”, etc. they are a racist. When you watch the news on TV and you see a cop kill a man and you say “A white cop killed a black man” you are a racist.

What I was trying to say was the exact opposite.

I want to do away with racism all together.

When you watch the news on TV and you see a cop kill a man, regardless of either of their race, you should say, “A cop killed a man” — end of story.

I’d like to live in a world where racism and sexism don’t exist. I’m tired of hearing about how the white man did this or the black woman does that.

Who cares? Why can’t we just be men and women?

The same thing goes for sexism.

In my love for writing and my haste to be part of something bigger than myself, I agreed to be an editor for a publication I don’t believe in. For that, I am sorry. I sincerely apologize to Heather and all the readers. I wish you the best.

I am not a feminist. Being a feminist says I want special treatment for being a woman.

Well, guess what?

I don’t want special treatment. I don’t want to start any sentence with, “I’m a woman…” or “…because I’m a woman.”

I don’t want to be a sexist. It would be no different than a man starting a publication for men only. He would be called a sexist.

Again, why can’t we just be men and women?

Let there be NO question.

I am not a racist.
I want to live in a world where there is no distinction between the color of our skin.
I am not a sexist.
I want to live in a world where men and women are equal.

Those are the things I stand for.
