Love this series! Do The Wizard of Oz! There is a popular theory with rather a lot of evidence that it’s an allegory about 19th-century economic policy, specifically “The Gold Standard: Should That Be a Thing?” Seriously. And even without that, the book depicts a society with no money. Everything is shared equally, kept in warehouses and distributed to the public whenever they want it. No, that didn’t make it into the movie.
