Nope, you only have to be working for a registered nonprofit, which most universities are. The link that Jordan Moore provides is exactly the one to follow: it’s not a terrible process, as such things go, but you do have to 1) make sure you have the right kind of loans, 2) apply, and 3) get your university HR department to verify that your university is indeed a nonprofit and that you work there.
