Because suicide by guns accounts for more deaths than all the other methods combined and because the presence of a firearm in a home increases the risk of suicide/accidents/domestic violence&intimidation, it seems a very effective way to reduce suicides or to prevent them is to simply restrict the ownership of guns. So I love your idea.
