As a woman, that also plays video games. You know.. JUST A GAMER. Your article is a trashfire in a dumpster, and I actually have to skim it just to stomach it.

You blotted out names that don’t represent the larger community. You grabbed a screenshot from a chan board, and used it to twist your narrative on the subreddit for FFXIV, which is appalling. (It’s a chan board. What do you expect to be there? Normal people? Bah.)

And you’ve seemingly tried to paint the community at large as some sort of hateful bunch of people. Which couldn’t be farther from the truth. If anything, the only “large” hateful group of people in this game I’ve met personally are actually the LGBT community themselves. Especially a lot of the trans women. (Before anyone goes thinking I’m against LGBT people. I’m not. I’m a lesbian, and my wife is a trans woman.) If you would have bothered to even know the lore surrounding 1.0, and 2.0. You’d know that the Garlean Empire has a strangle-hold on a lot of countries, and factions. Both of those releases having a 2010, and 2013 release date respectively. Before any of the stuff that’s actually relevant to today’s problems within the US, which is what I’m assuming you’re hinting at with the wall separating Gyr Abania, and the rest of Eorzea. (Hint: It’s the US, and Trumps wall for Mexico they’re referring to.)

The Beast Tribe being the way it is if, you bothered to pay attention to the lore. You’d know that the way they act is due to being Tempered, and the Tempered act that way due to being brain-washed into wanting to summon their race’s God.

All in all. If anyone reads this article, and takes it seriously. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t represent the game, story, or community as a whole. This article is at best. Vitriol satire.
