#Design2Letters [day four]

Today I felt like being a girly-girl. I chose the letters E and L figuring I could find some neat script fonts that would do them justice.

Step 1: Sketching!

Sketch using SketchAppX

Step 2: To the computer!

I had in mind prior to starting the challenge that for a few of the days I would use fonts I hated (or ones that others despised). Edwardian Script happens to be on my “don’t-ever-use” list.

So naturally, I chose Edwardian Script for the letter E. For the letter L, I used Master of Break.

Step 3: Gimme some color!

Script fonts? Girly colors. Might be a cliche, but oh well. It happens. :)

During my color exploration I started playing around with the Extrude & Bevel settings within Illustrator. I honestly never have used it before in any design work that I’ve done, so that was interesting. After making about 4 or 5 different options, I settled on one favorite.
