Explaining the Graphics of Apple’s Advertisment to Announce the iPhone 6

The ad had a light grey background and just the top of the apple logo peeking through the bottom.

On top of the logo, the text just said “9.9.2014" (the date of the release) along with “Wish we could say more.” underneath it.

I think Apple went with a greyscale color scheme because Apple is a company that believes in minimalism, and is very neutral in its working.

Plus, the iPhones come in 2 colors, White and Black. A little while ago, Gold was added.

Apple has always kept it simple with their fonts, and the use of a combination of simple sans serifs- Myriad and Lucida Sans, for the text falls in line with Apple’s use of fonts in its UIs.

The main graphic of the logo is very cryptic, and adds a sense of mystery to the entire release, and that is what they intended on doing.
