Thank you for this sound advice, Jennifer.
I’ve found in my journey into product design that it’s a very humbling job: you gather research data, you bring a bit of your art, and you ship something that will delight people… Only to find that you’re not quite right on a many points. You go back to listening, and it goes like this over and over again…
It’s good to keep in mind that when newbie/junior in the game, we’re “serving” others, not ourselves. Our delight comes from users’ delight above all, so harsh feedback is there to help us grow, not to put us down.
