The passing of my grandfather is a moment of personal significance; with each relative passing, I feel my place in line moves forward.
He lived his life through personal volition as his priority, disregarding the whispers and assumptions of others. At the moment of his death, I swayed back and forth between overly caring of others’ thoughts and disregarding them completely. His passing surfaced that the opinion of yourself matters far more than the opinion of others.
