ambr, Inc. launches a new project of game development in Fortnite.
ambr, Inc. a company that designs, builds, and operates virtual worlds (located in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Takuya Nishimura), is pleased to announce that it has started game development project on “Fortnite,” an online game platform, which has more than 500 million registered users worldwide.
Background
Fortnite was born as a free battle royal game provided by Epic Games and has now evolved into the world’s largest metaverse platform, having more than 500 million registered users and 70 million monthly active users. In addition, in March 2023, the “Unreal Editor For Fortnite (UEFN)” was released, a tool that allows for creating unique games and content within Fortnite, exploiting the cooperation with Unreal Engine. This dramatically increased the freedom of users to create content on Fortnite. Thanks to this evolution, developers and creators are now capable of creating diverse experiences and spaces that go beyond the existing game nature of Fortnite.
Against this backdrop, ambr has started a new project of game development using UEFN on Fortnite. Utilizing user-experience design, creative fabrication, and development capabilities in the virtual space we have amassed thus far at ambr, we will create new gaming experiences for users worldwide.
We have already experimentally created and released over 100 maps in August, breaking through a total of 100,000 plays. In the future, we will work on the development of higher-quality games.
