We are pleased to announce that “TOKYO GAME SHOW VR 2022,” designed and developed by ambr, Inc. (located in Bunkyo, Tokyo, CEO: Takuya Nishimura) has been selected as a finalist in the VR Marketing of the Year at the 7th VR Awards.
We are thrilled and honored to realize that the appeal of TOKYO GAME SHOW VR (hereinafter, TGSVR) has been shared internationally, transcending national and linguistic barriers. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been involved in this project.
About the VR Awards
The VR Awards, hosted by The Academy of International Extended Reality (AIXR), is an international event that recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of VR. There are awards in 13 categories, including not only the marketing category in which TGSVR2022 was nominated but also hardware, video, education, healthcare, games, etc.
The “VR Marketing of the Year,” where TGSVR2022 was selected as one of the world’s top 5, is awarded to marketing campaigns that are innovative and creative, reaching a wider layer of people using VR. The VR Awards, now in its 7th year, attracts attention from professionals in various industries every year, not limited to VR.

About TOKYO GAME SHOW VR
TOKYO GAME SHOW VR (hereinafter, TGSVR) is the official virtual venue of “Tokyo Game Show,” one of the world’s largest game shows, sponsored by the Computer Entertainment Association (CESA). TGSVR2022, in its second year of its operation, recorded a total of about 400,000 visitors over a four-day period under the theme of “The Game Show Becomes a Game.” TGSVR2021, in its inaugural year, won the Excellence Award in the Game Design category at the CEDEC AWARDS 2022.
The main feature of TGSVR2022 is the realization of a “virtual event game experience.” By introducing a story design inspired by “dungeons,” avatar customization, and game quest systems, we bestowed a game-like nature to large-scale metaverse events.

TGSVR is a project that ambr has been involved in since its first launch in 2021, and it is one that we are particularly passionate about. It’s quite remarkable to think that we have been able to create a world where you can participate in a global gaming event through VR, meet and immerse yourself in the worlds of favorite game characters.
However, there is still so much more potential in the virtual world. We are challenging ourselves with new endeavors even for the third installment, TGSVR2023, this year, and we hope everyone will enjoy it. Finally, TGSVR is a co-creation project with many stakeholders, including gaming companies. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved.
