Dark fairy tale microfiction.

The Dawn caught a lurid sunrise in her skirt, a red sky of delight. As she ran to catch up with the Day, with Expectation, Good Intention, she snagged the bright cloth against a branch and it came apart with the pain of waking. The Dusk hid behind a hill and waited, a trail of bloodied dreams in her wake.
