Atelier Bow Wow can be depicted as being one of the most renowned Architects of our generation. Through his studies surrounding Architecture within Japan, Atelier Bow Wow has created and published the book entitled ‘Made in Tokyo’.

‘Made in Tokyo’ is a catalogued publication which best depicts the various types of structures found within the chaotic and overcrowded city of Tokyo. Throughout the book the readers are introduced to a number of different structures including the idea of ‘Pet Architecture’, this style is gained through its tiny design, ideal for small pockets of land. Land in Tokyo is hard to come by which made these small but liveable design ideal for the location.
After research gained through various mediums and the publication itself, ‘Made in Tokyo; it can be noted that similar to the structural design of ‘Pet Architecture’ in Tokyo a link can be created to the design in ever growing terrace housing surrounding the City of Sydney. The abundance of these buildings is due to the high population and limited amount of land.
Axonometric drawings are used throughout the book, it is portrayed when the buildings are broken down to the raw structure (* a viewpoint typically when the roof is removed and angled at 45 degrees). This style is often chosen as it portrays the buildings backbones and also allows for the movement/living patters human interactions will have with the building.

The example i chose to create a link was item number 67 ‘Y residence’ a residential building found in Tokyo similar to that found on 2 Rose Street, Chippendale Sydney. (Shown above is the drawing constructed of ‘Y residence’ and below is the drawing of 2 Rose Street, Chippendale).
