Actually, Nike is the best argument for leaving OKC. There is not “market” in OKC — none. Again, not downplaying his important to the team, but if he does what’s best for him — long term — he may have to leave. LA is a market unto itself, so is Miami, so are about 10 other markets. Hell, even Dallas would is market (OKC has played “I wanna be Dallas” for a very long time). If he does leave? OKC will survive. Sam Presti learned from the masters of small market / big league. Does Westbrook bolt the year after — yet to be seen. They could have one more run — one year to make it happen. I don’t see it. My personal belief is he either signs a “deal” and stays, or signs one and leaves. His personality is such, having to revisit this crap every couple years, will give him white hair. I’m sure he wants DONE, so he can get on with what he loves.
