A debate amongst CMOs: Is it time to “Go Retro”?

Great article, and worth thinking about. It reminds me of the first time I heard the saying “High Tech, High Touch” in the book Megatrends by John Naisbitt … where he talked about how as we become more isolated physically with technology, we also crave more human interaction in the physical world. We are social beings, and the virtual worlds of “social media” help us connect with people whom we’d never have met otherwise. In our world of “marketing & selling” — we have leveraged technology to do the same thing — but it comes with a price of low touch. Adding levels of high touch, is out of the norm now, and will get noticed.
