There is a “trick” to flip the negativity switch … it’s thinking through “equal but opposite” … it goes something like this:

Both of these are true statements: (1) The Table Top is 3 feet from the floor (2) The Floor is 3 feet from the table top.

There is always a positive to a negative, practice finding it and interrupting yourself from defaulting to negative. “I got laid off today, guess I’ll have more free time to ____?____.” is just as valid as “I just got laid off today, I’m screwed, how am I going to ____?____.”
