How to get honest feedback on whatever you’re building
Product updates are great, especially when there is an image attached, something visual gets people really interested. But oftentimes the developer is just looking for some feedback.
A lot of these posts go by seen but not acknowledged because they’re talking to a broad group, not with anyone in particular.
If you’re looking for engagement on social media, you need to talk with people. Most people can’t resist an opportunity to talk about their opinion, especially if it’s something they’re interested in. Whatever your niche is, find those people and don’t be afriad to reach out. But don’t sound like you’re just trying to sell them something. Peoples bullshit radars are pretty high tech.
A question has to be asked
It’s the only way most people will feel comfortable enough to respond. If you ask a thoughtful question, I guarantee you’ll start building some very meaningful relationships with users/potential users of your product.
It will take time, but it’s very important to have those relationships. They’re the fuel behind whatever you’re creating.
You’ll get more honest feedback when you need it.
They’ll be more willing to share what you’re doing with their circle.
Your users will forgive a few bugs or a rough launch, because they’re more invested in your product.
People on social media get talked to constantly, it’s the thought provoking questions and genuine reach-outs that grab their attention.
It’s how you level the playing field
Being more accessible and personal is the only leverage small/new businesses have over larger, wealthier companies.
Use it.
