How much Botox can be too much for treating wrinkles

Botox is an amazing drug that is used all over the world to help people in restoring their young and youthful appearance. But before injecting botox, it is important that you should conduct an honest and sincere discussion with your clients regarding the treatment objectives and their expectations about the treatment outcomes.

Often, I happen to come across the clients who had a bad previous experience with the Botox treatment leaving them with a frozen, unnatural and expressionless appearance or in some cases a droopy brow which cause interference with their vision. Therefore, it is crucial to administer controlled quantities of Botox.

I discuss with my clients that I administer Botox injections in controlled doses which will not just soften their lines and wrinkles but will also enable them to maintain a certain degree of their facial expressions without creating a frozen look. This implies giving a youthful appearance without compromising the natural facial balance and harmony. There are also some clients who want to have that frozen look but they are very few in number. However, it is the duty of the doctor to discuss all kinds of possibilities with the client.

Choosing the appropriate dose of Botox for a particular client is not a straight forward decision to make although you might know the guidelines for dosage provided by the botox manufacturers. This does not mean that you use one-size-fit-all formula. These recommendations should be only considered a guideline. As an expert cosmetic practitioner, it is our duty to provide customized and individually tailored botox treatment because all clients do not have same level of anti-ageing concerns.

So how is it possible to choose the right dosage of Botox?

The administration of correct Botox dosage requires in-depth understanding of the facial anatomy and acceptance that every individual client is different. Therefore, the first step should be the careful analysis and evaluation of the client’s facial musculature. The practitioner should analyse the strength of their underlying muscle by examining the bulk of their muscles. Then, the anatomy of the facial muscles should be determined which is somewhat different from what has been described in the theoretically in the text books. After that the impact of relaxation of muscles on the entire face should be evaluated and determined especially the frontalis and orbicularis oculi muscles.

While considering the aesthetic impact of the treatment, the physical functions of the organs should also be taken into account such as how the function of the eyes of the patient will be affected if their eyebrow muscle is relaxed. The patient is obviously not going to be happy if you tend to freeze their eyebrow muscle. Some facial areas of Botox are more difficult to treat as compared to others particularly around the mouth and around the lips. Therefore, one should be careful while injecting botox in this area.

There are many renowned and professional cosmetic clinics such as CosMeDocs — a cosmetic treatment clinic at Harley Street, provides Botox treatment by the expert and professional aesthetic practitioners who possess comprehensive understanding about facial anatomy and botox injections treatment.
