Teams are made up of people, and people are different. It’s not always possible to be unified behind a single vision. In fact, it’s almost always impossible because what each of us might want is ultimately dictated by factors related to our past, our personalities, and our uniqueness.

These redesigns were met with generally positive reviews (some people are complaining about a ‘lack of personality’ in these new black and white UIs but they’ll soon get over that. You open an app for it’s functionality, not it’s personality) so I expect apps both new and old to start jumping on the CR bandwagon.
In fact, you’re going to need to make sure that the code you wrote runs in production, in general. I don’t really care if your code runs locally. If your code just runs locally, then my only option is to sell your computer so that our users can use our software, and that really doesn’t scale.
