While his campaign insists the assassination threats are credible, Iranian officials have consistently denied U.S. accusations of interference

Donald Trump has been briefed by U.S. intelligence regarding specific threats from Iran aimed at assassinating him, his campaign announced.

In a statement, the Republican presidential candidate’s team emphasized that the threats were “real and specific,” claiming Iran’s intent is to destabilize the United States and create chaos.

The campaign did not provide further details about the allegations, leaving it unclear whether the threats are recent or have been previously disclosed.

U.S. Intelligence official alerts have reportedly observed an uptick in Iranian threats in recent months. U.S. authorities are actively working to secure Trump’s safety and ensure the election proceeds without interference.

Iran has consistently refuted U.S. accusations of meddling in American affairs. As of late Tuesday, there had been no response from Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations in New York regarding requests for comment.

Trump later posted on his Truth Social site, asserting that Iran posed “big threats” to his life. He noted that while past attempts were unsuccessful, “they will try again.”

Last month, Trump accused Iran of hacking his campaign, alleging that the Iranian government unlawfully appropriated and disseminated sensitive internal documents.

However, his team did not provide any evidence to substantiate these claims. The allegations surfaced shortly after a Microsoft report detailed extensive foreign interference efforts targeting this year’s U.S. election campaign.

Iran denied accusations that it plotted to assassinate Trump two months ago, following a shooting incident at a rally in Pennsylvania that resulted in one death and injuries to the presidential candidate.

In a separate development earlier this month, a Pakistani man with alleged ties to Iran pleaded not guilty to charges related to an alleged plot to assassinate Trump. This purported conspiracy was said to be in retaliation for the U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in 2020, an operation authorized by Trump during his presidency.

A source familiar with the matter indicated that although the defendant identified Trump as a potential target, he did not consider the plan a definitive attempt to assassinate the former president.

Law enforcement agencies have heightened their vigilance with intensive security measures in response to ongoing threats against these political figures. Authorities remain conscious and coordinate with intelligence agencies to prevent any credible danger.

Federal authorities are conducting a separate investigation into suspected assassination threats to Trump at his Florida golf course in mid-September. So far, there has been no evidence suggesting any involvement from Iran.
