Doug, Out.

A recap of Doug Speight’s tenure as AU’s Code2040 EIR

At our final Helpfest, our Chief Strategist Adam Klein presented Doug Speight with the “Order of the Bull,” a special trophy and acknowledgement that American Underground gives to impactful leaders in the Durham startup community. Doug, the Cathedral Leasing CEO, recently completed his tenure as Code2040 Entrepreneur-In-Residence for American Underground. Code2040 is a San Francisco organization dedicated to creating access and opportunity in tech for Black and LatinX communities.

We recently had Durham’s favorite Trap rapper Professor Toon conduct Doug’s exit interview in a segment called “Doug, Out” appropriately shot at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Get it? Baseball….dugout…Doug, out? Clever, right?

Here is a snapshot of what Doug accomplished in his role as EIR through his 5 M’s plan (Magnetism, Momentum, Money, Mentors, and Minds).
