Sailing

Once upon a peaceful night
I was sailing away
In the ocean of life
Through the leaves of memories
As the moon shined bright
In solitude I trusted
Destinations uncharted
My sensed rusted
As the waves departed
Sudden gales
Engulfed the sea
I held on to the sails
Begging for mercy
From the one above
Who saw it all
And set winds in motion
And made the call
The storm did pass
My life was spared
From the clutches of death
Indeed, he cared
Unaware that the memories,
The leaves of time,
Had long been lost
I had paid the costs
I laughed and I smiled
As I cursed him, I wept
For I had my life back
But my hopes were stripped
