Soca — meet the Slovenia most amazing part
Soca is a river located in north west of Slovenia and is one of the most amazing area in Slovenia. Soca is part of the Triglav National park. The river is one of the cleanest in Europe and is home of some amazing landscapes.
The River Soca, which has a distinct emerald green colour, is considered to be one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe. Its water flows across waterfalls, small waterfalls, and cascades as well as through narrow rocky gorges, and along the way it has carved surprising canyons and pools. The river and its tributaries excite the lovers of natural beauty and seekers of adventurous water sports , such as wildwater kayaking, rafting, canyoning etc. A renowned fish lives in the River Soča — the Soča Trout, which attracts fishermen from all over the world. The mountainous landscape above the River Soča was the scene of the largest mountain battle in history during World War I.
How to Get to Soca
There is buses and trains from Ljubljana that will take you to this area. Also for small amount of money you can use the car sharing prevozi.org site.If you go from Koper than best option is to use car sharing. If you coming from Italy or Austria you can catch a bus from Villach or Klagenfurt
What to do in Soca
Landscape is amazing and is great for hiking and exploring the nature. Kranjska Gora is one of the best ski resorts in the world so you can ski there during the winter.On different parts of the river there is some nice waterfalls. Also this area of Soca is famous for eco tourism. Many villages offer accommodation for the guests. For me was the place where i have the best rafting ever. We went to Bovec to have some really nice rafting. Next day we went to Boka.
Boka is a waterfall in the western part of Slovenia, near the Soča River. It begins at a karst spring and has two stages, of which the first is 106 meters high and 18 meters wide, and the second is 33 meters high.
Near Kobarid is another fantastic waterfall Kozjak. Sound that produce in combination with the color of the water gave some epic moment that you will never forgot.

This is area that have all kind of options. From guesthouse to luxury hotels from motels to mountain lodge. Price also depend from the place and the style . Cheapest what you can get is 20 euro a day for a room.Average price is 45euros a day.
